Parkrab Pitch
Game Aesthetics
Mood Board
This is the mood board that will show the inspirations and images that I stole from the internet to showcase the general aesthetic that I want my game to have. Top right you have a crab. This shows that you will play as a crab. Next to that is the iconic Parkour scene from the hit show "The Office". This is used to show that there will be parkour involved in this game. Next to that, you have a screenshot from the game Mirror's Edge, which is a first-person parkour game that will heavily inspire what I try to create this year. Below that are crab hands. You see how Mirror's Edge is first person so you see the hands a lot? Well now they are crab hands. Next to that is Sebastian from Little Mermaid. He's a lobster, not a crab so maybe we can make lobsters the henchmen of the big villain. Next to that we have a beach. This is where the majority of the game will take place. The entire game will be set on a beach as you traverse through various stages of parkouring. Below that is Mr Bourgesis, the main villain of this sad story. Next to him is the crab wife who he will steal from our valiant crab hero. This is the general plot of the story inspired by the image in the bottom left corner. Bowser stealing Princess Peach is what inspired the story of this crab game. Similar to that, Mr Bourgers will come in and steal the crab wife away from you and you must travel through the game and save her. The last two images show different aspects of the game. In the bottom row, you have a skill tree. This one comes from Jedi: Fallen Order. This shows that there will be a skill tree aspect to this game, where you learn various different parkour skills as the game progresses. I haven't decided what those are yet but I will. Finally, you have the color palette. I chose warm, sunny, beachy colors to represent the setting and general feel of what I want this game to be. Since you are a crab from the beach, there are colors like crab red, ocean blue, and sandy sand. I hope that this mood board gives a very basic feel about what will happen in this game

Character Description
This is the crab that will be my main character for my final game in this class. As you can see, he looks like your average crab but underneath the crabulous exterior, there is a parkour master inside. I gave him some extra muscle to help with climbing, jumping, and swinging. For the orthographic I attempted to add some color but didn't finish it. I went with typical orange and red because those are crab colors. He has the pinchers of a crab which might make parkouring difficult, but he is super jacked so it shouldn't be too much of a problem for him. He has crab legs so that he can scuttle quickly across long stretches of open land. His eyes are above his head which you sometimes see with crabs and sometimes don't. This could help him see long distances like binoculars or something.

Storyline
We open on a beach, crawling with tourists that have set up chairs and umbrellas along the shore. A crab scuttles into frame and click clacks his clacking hands, before being crushed under a boot. We go down the beach passing many more tourists, before stopping on a whole bunch of crabs, sitting in little chairs, at a wedding. We meet our protagonist, Crabdominal Muscles, in the middle of getting married. After the wedding is complete, the many crabs start to dance and party. Night falls and lots of crabs leave as Crabdominal and his new wife lie together on a towel that they stole from a weak little tourist. While they sleep, something else scuttles towards them. It isn't a crab, it's Mr Bourgalisis, the evil, many legged demon who hates crab weddings. He snatches up the crab wife and scuttles away. Crabdominal tries to catch up but Mr Bourgalisis' legs are too long and he moves too fast. The demon leaps into the sky and uses his legs as a propeller to fly up to his base in the sky. Crabdominal, not wanting to give up his new crab wife, hires a seagull to fly him up to the base. He pays the seagull with sand dollars because they are on a beach. The seagull flies him up and tells him that his name is Gullagolocity. They land on the base and see Mr Borgalisis, leaping across giant gaps in the walkway leading to his lair. Gullagolocity picks up Crabdominal and flies him over these gaps and follows Mr Borgalisis into his fortress. Upon entering, they see Mr Borgalasis parkouring across long stretches of obstacles. They attempt to fly over them but Gullagolocity is struck by a bunch of arrows and falls out of the lair back down to the beach. Crabdominal begins to try and traverse the course. He dodges the arrows and makes it across the first set of obstacles and opens the door on the other end of the room. On the other side of the door is a huge hall with several more courses to cross. Before Crabdominal starts the first course, a voice calls him from the side of the room. He finds a starfish that has been struck by a wrecking ball. The starfish explains that Mr Borgalasis stole his wife from their wedding too. He gives Crabdominal a potion that makes him super buff and gives him parkouring abilities such as wall-running and double jumping. Crabdominal easily makes it through all the courses in this room. He smashes through the next door and is immediately bombarded with angry seahorses and an octopus. He beats them all up and uses the octopus as a grappling hook to get across the massive pit in the floor. He sees a clownfish that is hanging on to the edge of the pit. He can either decide to save him or keep going. If he lets him hang, Crabdominal opens the door and gets hit by a cannonball and dies. If he saves him, the cannonball hits the clownfish and Crabdominal lives. He moves on emotionally and destroys the cannon by flexing too hard. He climbs a giant staircase and emerges in the final room before the throne room. It's on fire. Crabs hate fire. Crabdominal uses his new muscley lungs to blow out the fire. Before he enters the throne room, a giant iguana crashes through the door. It's Mr Bourgalais' pet Sprinklebell. Sprinklebell spits hellfire at Crabdominal so he has to block it. After he blocks it he rushes forward but he's too slow. Sprinklebell swallows him whole. Crabdominal finds a crocodile named Drokolopiks chilling in the lizards stomach. Crabdominal uses pure testosterone to make the iguana explode from the inside. The crab and the crocodile enter the throne room. Mr Bourgalasis is sitting on his throne with several aquariums on each side of him. They are filled with a variety of creatures including a starfish, a clownfish, a crocodile, and Crabdominal's crab wife. They charge at Mr Borgalasis but he is too quick. He grabs all the cages with his many arms and starts to flee. Drokolopiks jumps into the air towards him but misses and ends up getting incinerated by Mr Bourgalasis' laser eyes. He crashes through the door and scampers through the ruined parkour courses. Crabdominal gives chase and uses his new skills to easily traverse the rubble. They reach the courtyard and face eachother. Before Mr Bourgalasis can use his lasers, Gullagolocity flies like a bullet straight into him. They fly into the distance and get struck by lightning. Crabdominal releases the other creatures and hugs his crab wife. He goes back into the lair and saves the starfish and then destroys the lair by smashing the ground real hard. The state government pays him 500,000 dollars for vanquishing their enemy. Crabdominal takes a fifth of it and splits the rest among the widows of the victims. He and his crab wife return to their sand castle and live happily ever after.
Reflection
As you can see, this game follows a crab that learns parkour which was the initial concept for the game. It kind of shifts away from a purely parkour game at times and becomes a fighting/strategy game. I added some side characters that will hopefully add to the tear-jerking story that I have created. I added explanations about how the main character embarks on his journey and obtains his powers. Most of this story, however, follows the initial idea for a crab-based parkour experience.

Game Design Document
Pitch:
Parkrab: Crab Parkour. A crab's wife has been stolen and you must traverse through several levels of increasingly difficult parkour in order to rescue her from the clutches of the evil Mr. Bourgaleen. You will unlock your true crab potential as you go through the various levels and obstacles in your path. This game will be enjoyable for players because of the current lack of crab-related parkour games in the market. It will be a refreshing new look for parkour/crab enthusiasts.
Genre:
It is a first-person parkour game similar to Mirror's Edge. The parkour will include running, jumping, and the works.
Target Audience:
It deals with kidnapping and possibly a bit of death (if I can figure out cutscenes) so I would say 10+
Core Gameplay Mechanics:
Running- W,A,S,D- Normal Speed for a crab- Upgrade speed after one of the levels
Jump- Spacebar- Normal height for a crab- Upgrade jump height after one of the levels
Wall Running- W,A,S,D on a wall- Same speed as current running speed- Unlocked after one of the levels
Interact- E- Opens doors, grabs items (maybe), swings on rope (cool idea; highly unlikely)
Make a crab noise- Q- Just for fun (maybe a way to fend off enemies if I can add enemies)
Activate Invincibility- R- Limited time; unlocked late in the game
Move cursor- Mouse- Click buttons and stuff in menus
Story/Game Elements:
If cutscenes are an option then there will be a short wedding scene and if they aren't you will just spawn at a wedding. When you interact with the wife, Mr. Bourthalis will appear and steal her. You will be picked up by a seagull and carried up to the parkour arena/ Mr. Boungler's Castle. It will be a big ol' palace that will look menacing. You will traverse various rooms with obstacles before reaching the end and fighting Mr. Bolardungos and saving your wife. See storyline details in the storyline section above (some details subject to change).
Aesthetics:
The beach wedding scene will be cheery. Lots of bright happy colors and laughing/chattering sounds. When Mr. Boltargeist is on screen, a sinister music will play. When you fly up with the seagull, triumphant music will play. The castle will have dark, evil colors to contrast with the happy wedding. There will be evil music at all times to signify the evilness of the Boulgink.
The specific sounds and their credits will be discovered later.
Scope:
I'll use the first person character from Unreal but I'll have to change the character model.
I don't have any specific sounds/props/maps but I will add them here after I find them and add them to the game.

Rough Sketch
"Polished" Version
This is a culmination of all the levels and other objects or aspects that will appear in my game. We have all sorts of things here ranging from doors and power-ups to cannons, seagulls, a wrecking ball, and of course, a lot of parkour. I tried not to make it too chaotic but it still kind of is so I'll do my best to explain. Each of the portal things and the seagull teleport you to your next level. The crowns say "Important" on the legend because I was hoping to make those into cutscenes but I don't know how possible that is. There is a bit of a weird thing starting at level 2. You spawn in front of that door and you shouldn't worry about the boss fight or parkour behind you because that will actually happen at the end. You will run back through the levels and end up at the start again which is when you will face those obstacles. I think I have a chance of finishing most of this game even though there is a lot of stuff involved. This should get interesting pretty shortly.

Asset Creation
This will be one of the many assets used in my game. I created this one from scratch believe it or not. It will eventually become my game's main antagonist: The Bourgoses Monster. It is loosely based off of someone I saw in a vision long ago. I will attempt to make him move around and become a problem for the player. He was pretty simple to design. Just a bunch of different colored spheres and boxes molded together to become this guy. I also added some more assets into the levels that were not created by me.
I put my Mr. Borgoogal in a mighty throne at the final point of my game to establish his infinite power. I also added lots of decor to the wedding scene to make it look more like a wedding instead of just boxes. I got the chairs, arch, lecturn, and wood material from Sketchfab for free, and I made the ramp myself with the cube grid. There would have been more, but there were a lot of issues with some of the items I attempted to import into the game. I will be adding LOTS more assets in the future, this is just what I could get done today.
